Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
Brilinta (Ticagrelor) may be taken with or without food and should be swallowed whole with water. For people that are unable to swallow tablets whole, the 90 mg tablet can be crushed to a fine powder and mixed in ½ glass of water. Consume the contents of the glass immediately. Rinse the glass with another ½ glass of water and immediately drink this.
If you are taking Brilinta (Ticagrelor), you will probably also be taking 75 mg to 150 mg of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) daily.
It is important to take Brilinta (Ticagrelor) exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Store Brilinta (Ticagrelor) at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
