For adults, the recommended dose of DM Syrup Sucrose Free (Dextromethorphan) is 10 mg to 20 mg taken by mouth every 4 hours, or 30 mg taken by mouth every 6 to 8 hours. The maximum daily dose for adults is 120 mg.
For children 6 to 11 years of age, the recommended dose is 5 mg to 10 mg taken by mouth every 4 hours or 15 mg taken by mouth every 6 to 8 hours. The maximum daily dose for children is 60 mg.
DM Syrup Sucrose Free (Dextromethorphan) is not recommended for children under the age of 6 years.
DM Syrup Sucrose Free (Dextromethorphan) may be taken with food or on an empty stomach.
There are several different strengths of DM Syrup Sucrose Free (Dextromethorphan) products available.
